Latest Sony Ericsson Phones 2010 (August 2010

Frank Tobias from the Esato board is back with a Sony Ericsson concept, the Plexus model, pictured below. We have no info on the device’s specs, but we can speculate that they include at least a 600 MHz CPU, 3G connectivity, Android 2.2 (that’s been confirmed by the designer), Bluetooth, WiFi and at least a 5MP camera at the back.

Frank Tobias promised to deliver the specifications for the concept device later on. Sony Ericsson Plexus is looking hot right now and we wonder if there’s a sliding mechanism under that touchscreen, since the handset is kinda thick.

As we’re getting closer to what may be the launch of the very first PSP Phone, there’s another nifty concept of the device to glance at. Pictured below, the PSP Phone design made by iSuriv is based on the Sony Mylo 2 combined with a PSP and an XPERIA handset.
New PSP Phone Design is Based on Sony Mylo 2
The supposed specs of the device include a 5 inch Super AMOLED screen, a Cortex A9 CPU, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, plus 4G and an accelerometer. iSuriv also wants an accelerometer on the console phone, a proximity sensor, a light sensor and gyroscope. The internal memory will be 8/16GB, accompanied by a microSD slot, while the camera at the back will be an 8MP unit with LED flash and capable of 720p video recording.
A front 3MP unit will also be included, as for the input, it will be handled by a virtual QWERTY keyboard, accompanied by gaming controls when using the gaming feature. Combine this with what we already know about the supposed Sony Ericsson PSP Phone and you’ve got yourself a pretty promising console and handset.

iPhone 4 Design Inspired by 3 Year Old Sony Ericsson Concept?

... Some of you might remember the Sony Ericsson concept phone below, while to others it may seem brand new. One thing is for sure: the folks of Mobilissimo have come up with an interesting theory, regarding the fact that this handset’s design, dating from 3 years back might have been the inspiration for the iPhone 4.
iPhone 4 Design Inspired by 3 Year Old Sony Ericsson Concept?
The design is still good enough to impress everyone even in 2010, when sliding phones with tiny displays and physical keys aren’t so cool any more. We can’t really say that Apple copied this look, but they could have used some of its traits on the newest iPhone. We wonder why Sony Ericsson didn’t take the same route…

Sony Ericsson Glory is an Android 2.2 PSP Phone, Based on NVIDIA Tegra 3

... Everybody’s going nuts with PSP Phone designs these days, but this time we have an interesting approach to the matter. Terrillo Walls created the Sony Ericsson Glory handset, a very slim gaming phone with PSP-like features. Considering the size of the device and how slim it is, this would make a pretty good tablet, don’t you think (if it were bigger)?
Sony Ericsson Glory is an Android 2.2 PSP Phone, Based on NVIDIA Tegra 3
Sony Ericsson Glory runs Android 2.2 and it comes with a 1.3 GHz dual core Tegra 3 processor and a 4 inch multitouch display. PSP Phone Revived, Made by Sony Ericsson and Based on Android 3.0 (Gingerbread)

It’s been a year or so since the PSP Phone rumors were extinct, but now they’re back in full force, courtesy of an Engadget piece published recently. Apparently, the famous blog has a trusted source saying that SE will be making an Android 3.0 gaming phone. What you see below is the Engadget mockup of the device.
PSP Phone Revived, Made by Sony Ericsson and Based on Android 3.0 (Gingerbread)
The smartphone is supposed to be incredible: its design will be a hybrid between Samsung Captivate and PSP Go, it’ll use the landscape slider form factor and include gaming controls instead of a QWERTY keyboard. The display will be somewhere between 3.7 and 4.1 inches in diagonal and the handset will even sport a-la-PSP shoulder buttons.
A 5 megapixel camera, Snapdragon CPU and D-pad will tag along, as well as the XPERIA branding. Gingerbread/Android 3.0 will be customized with a special skin and there will also be a new gaming platform and ecosystem created by Sony Ericsson for this nifty device. 3D gaming, God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare… you’ll have all of that on the “PSP Phone”.
Launch date anyone
